Frequently Asked Questions

Our Products

All products are handmade by me with great attention to detail and quality. Because of the handmade nature of our products, customers can expect very slight variations from one piece to another. Under each product, you’ll find an informative description. However if you have any further doubts or queries, please contact us at (info@liashahar.com) or use the contact form on the website. We will usually get back to you within 48 hours.

Materials Used

90% of the materials used are sourced from overseas and are of the highest grade in the market. I primarily use either faux leather or wool blend felt in my pieces, with a combination of other textures as accents and embellishments.

Sizing Details

Our headbands come attached to two types of bases, either elastic or nylon. All nylon bands are free size and can fit anyone from newborns to adults. If you happen to select an elastic headband, please make sure to properly indicate your baby’s age. All clips are either alligator clips or snap clips and can be used for babies starting from 3 months onwards.

Headband Colours

We try to stock up on all shades possible to give you the best shopping experience! Browsing through the hundreds of products can get tedious so if you’re looking for a particular colour to match an outfit, type it into the search bar to narrow down the results!
We try our best to get the closest matching shade of elastic or nylon bands attached onto the bow/design you select. But unfortunately, sometimes we won’t be able to get the exact shade of nylon/elastic as the design, in which case we would be attaching it onto a white or nude band by default. If you are specific about the colours, check with us first BEFORE placing an order.

Care Instructions

Make sure all headbands and bows are stored in a clean and dust free environment. Try to store them on a flat surface and avoid stacking during storage. Stacking may disfigure and flatten our products. If they happen to crease/get bent, smooth them out gently with your fingers. If the fabric begins to fray with prolonged use, gently trim the edges with a pair of sharp scissors!
Do not wash, instead wipe clean with a damp cloth ONLY if necessary. Washing/deep cleaning may distort the shape of the products.

Making A Custom Product (or Order)

Custom orders are accepted in limited quantities. Please contact us and make an enquiry to find out the possibility of placing a custom order with us. Furthermore, your custom order will only be accepted if the total order value exceeds 3000 LKR whether it’s for a single piece or multiple pieces. If we accept your custom order, we will send you a separate listing for your product so that you can make a payment and further discuss design and colour options with us. We have a wide selection of fabrics, patterns and colour options to match any of your outfits!

Discounts

Although we would love to provide all items at a discounted rate, all items in store are individually handmade and require a lot of time and effort to create. So please keep that in mind when comparing our prices to mass produced items. However, we’d be regularly offering discount and promo codes on our Instagram and Facebook platforms. Be sure to keep all page notifications on and regularly check our pages to catch all offers and promotions. Simply enter the code at checkout to redeem our offers and special prices.

Turnaround Time

Processing time (time from placing an order to when it ships out) will usually range between 15-20 working days (Monday-Friday). Most of the time we will get your order dispatched much earlier than that. During busy/seasonal periods, the turnaround time may increase by a couple of days. If you require your order for an event before/by a specific date, please contact us before placing your order to check if it is possible. We won’t be rushing your order if you don’t CONTACT US first before making a purchase, your order will only be processed in the normal turnaround time span.

International Orders

We do undertake international orders. All international orders will be sent out through Sri Lanka registered post. International orders will take around 30-60 days to reach upon dispatch (30-60 days excluding the regular turnaround time).

Payment Methods

Lia Shahar Bowtique accepts all major credit and debit cards as well as bank deposits.
No personal details or information will be withheld.

Delivery

All orders are individually packed with care, so that your product reaches you safely without any damages. If you wish to send out a gift and want to include a personalized note, please include your text in the “message to seller” section during checkout!
All orders within the island would be sent through a trusted courier/delivery company.
All international orders will be sent out through Registered Mail and may take 30-60 days; They can be tracked!

Returns / Exchanges

I do not accept any returns or exchanges. Please be aware of the item you’re purchasing and ask any questions BEFORE buying. Nevertheless, please feel free to contact me if you have any issues with your order within 24 hours of delivery. I’d be glad to help!

Safety Disclaimer

While I make all products to withstand wear and tear for the longest of times with the best quality materials and components, care should also be taken on your part to ensure the product keeps well. Please don’t let your baby overstretch the elastic or chew on the headbands. All hair accessories must only be worn under adult supervision as it may pose a choking hazard if your baby swallows or chews on any small parts/embellishments. Please ensure that your baby is not left unattended whilst wearing the bands and that they’re removed when your baby is asleep.
WARNING:  Lia Shahar accessories are NOT toys and should always be removed if your child is sleeping, napping or unsupervised.
